Biographical history

George Blondin was born at Horton Lake in May 1922. Mr. Blondin worked as a guide for surveyors on the Canol Pipeline Project and at Port Radium and Giant Mines. He served as Chief of the Deline Band and as Northern Vice President of the Dene Nation. George is an author and continues to write many articles on the North and its people, including three books on the Sahtu Dene and traditional medicine. Through his stories, writing, travels and leadership, he is a great statesman for the Dene people. His knowledge has provided a strong foundation for Dene Kede.
