The accession is comprised of telegrams and correspondence concerning the construction of a landing strip at Wrigley in 1938.
This accession consists of one copy of a pamphlet from Mackenzie Air Service entitled, "Schedules, Tariffs: Serving All Mining Areas and Trading Posts in the Canadian Northwest from Edmonton to the Arctic".
Mackenzie Air Service Ltd.The textual material dates from 1978-1988 and consists of Exhibit Storyline and Exhibit Content Plans for the North and South Galleries at the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre. In addition, there are Exhibit scripts for Chapters in Our History, The North before People, Greenland Kayak Exhibit, Dene Women's Art Exhibit and the traveling exhibit about "The Land." The textual material also includes two Pilot's Log Books from 1928 and 1946 that belonged to Walter James Beaumont. The sound recordings contain interviews with J. Davids and H. Hollick-Kenyon, Denny May, Cam Jordheim and Mark Dodd. The content of the material focuses on aviation in the north, bush pilots, and Wop May. It is likely that this material was used in developing the aviation exhibit at the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre. The 2 videocassettes are in Umatic or Betacam formats and consist master copies of "Trapline Lifeline" and "Wings of Change." "Trapline Lifeline" was a traveling exhibit that examined the history and modern-day realities of fur trapping. The exhibit contained an audio-visual section that included video footage of interviews with trappers and an overview of life in northern communities. "Wings of Change" is the video component from the aviation gallery at the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre.
Records include documents relating to the B and C Arctic Airports transfer agreement with the Federal government, including an MOU from 1991, briefing notes regarding the transfer from 1988-1989, and a briefing book regarding the agreement from 1990-1991.

This accession also includes Deputy Minister briefing books for Main Estimates and the Standing Committee on Finance, as well as Briefing Notes and Options Papers. As well, agreements relating to the devolution of Arctic 'A' airports (Yellowknife, Hay River, Norman Wells, Inuvik, Fort Smith, Fort Simpson, Cambridge Bay, Iqaluit and Resolute) to the department, and an organizational review relating to the transfer of responsibilities are also included in this accession.

Records include environmental reviews and assessments, in particular soil and groundwater monitoring and remediation of Arctic 'A' airport sites. Also included are environmental reviews and workshops relating to winter roads, ice roads, and prospective resource extraction (mining) projects.

Environmental Affairs divisionTextual records include two telegrams from 1937 relating to the flight of Sigismund Levanevsky of the U.S.S.R.; one autographed program "Commemorating Bush Pilots of Canada", August 20, 1967, Yellowknife; and one Canadian Airways Limited card showing flight routes. The photographs, most obtained from Matt Berry, relate to aviation in the north. The images feature views of life in numerous NWT communities, and activities such as mining. The map illustrates the route flown by W.L. Brintnell in G-CASK during August of 1929. The 21 day (105 hours), 1000 miles trip from Winnipeg (Manitoba) and back included stops in Fort Simpson, Fort Norman, Aklavik, Dawson (Yukon), Prince Rupert (B.C.), Edmonton (Alberta). Some of the photographs in this accession are copies of images held by the National Archives of Canada (NAC). The NAC's reference number for the items in their holdings has been recorded in the accession file.
Edmonton Air Museum CommitteeThe accession consists of a commemorative album titled "The Edmonton Bush Pilots: Northwest Territories Centennial Flight, August, 1970" compiled on behalf of the City of Edmonton for the NWT Centennial. It is a tribute to the importance of aviation in the histories of both Edmonton and the Northwest Territories. The album contains: a list of bush pilots; a chronology of events from 1904-1970, relating to the Edmonton Industrial Airport (Blatchford Field) and the associated pilots; brief profiles of selected bush pilots; and 23 black and white copy photographs of aviation, dated primarily in the 1920s and 1930s.
