Also included are a number of Kinsmen/Kinette newsletters, clippings and loose photographs.
This accession consists of booklets relating to the Arctic Winter Games, including “for those who were there” NWT Team booklet from the 1978 Games held in Hay River-Pine Point, “we’re together again” NWT Team booklet from the 1980 Games held in Whitehorse, “Northwest Territories Team 1982 Arctic Winter Games Fairbanks, Alaska”, and “Cultural Performances, Arts and Entertainment Program 1998 Arctic Winter Games Yellowknife, Northwest Territories March 15-21”.
The records consist of 0.1 cm of textual records and 76 photographs (black and white prints) that were created by Mitch Jacob during his time in the NWT, primarily in Behchoko (formerly Fort Rae). The textual records consist of Jacob’s mining claims and related materials. The photographs document Jacob’s time and activities in the NWT, and include the tugboat ‘Dease Lake’, barges, dog teams, and prospecting. Communities and locations documented include Behchoko, the Mackenzie River Ramparts, and Fort Fitzgerald, Alberta. The photographs feature Mitch Jacob himself and many members of the Darwish family, particularly Jim Darwish.

Addison's collection of material related to the Nahanni area, including his own photographs, trip journals, and maps, the annotated bibliography and literature review he compiled, oral-history interviews he conducted, transcripts and catalogues he compiled and edited, photographs, documents, and maps he gathered from various sources, and correspondence he conducted with Nahanni old-timers and others.
Addison, W.D.Records include photographs taken by Maxine Colbourne during her time as a teacher in Aklavik and Inuvik, documenting Christmas celebrations, domestic scenes, her students and classrooms, outdoor activities (picnics, boat rides, sledding), views of buildings in Aklavik and Inuvik, and social and cultural activities (curling, dances, festivals and parades). Many of the images feature children who were likely her students. Also included are photographs of Daniel Norris, a 1963 trip to Fairbanks, Alaska for a curling tournament, visits to Duck Lake Reserve (possibly Beardy's and Okemasis Cree Nation, Duck Lake, Saskatchewan) in 1961 and 1964, a visit to Yellowknife, photographs of her young sons, and photographs from her time teaching. The photographs also document her classroom and students at Lower Post Residential School in British Columbia in 1968.
Colbourne, MaxineRecords include prints formerly owned by Ethel Coates, documenting her experience living and working in Norman Wells. The photographs feature the portraits and daily work and recreation activities of Imperial Oil Ltd employees, including hiking, camping, and dances. Most of the images appear to have been taken in and around Norman Wells and Camp Canol, but it is possible that some were taken elsewhere.
Photographs 0052 through 0102 are arranged according to their order in a scrapbook that was created for Ethel Coates' memorial service, with captions written by her niece.
Coates, EthelThe collection consists primarily of slides taken by Helene Caufield during her time working as a nurse stationed in the Northwest Territories. Photograph locations include: Aklavik, Fort McPherson, Reindeer Station, Inuvik, Fort Simpson, and Yellowknife. Topics include scenery and community views, Anglican churches, hospitals, and hostels, students and patients, and activities including sewing, harvesting ice, making dryfish, picnics, and walks. The collection also includes a portrait of Helene during her training and a two page list of photograph captions.
Caufield, HeleneThe photographs document the initial construction of Giant Mine in addition to general scenes of Yellowknife. They were taken by Sidney Hanford in 1945 while he was Master Mechanic at Giant Mine.

Ski Program, a booklet and program for the Top of the World Ski Championships, a booklet for the Northern Games, and a program for Caribou Carnival. They were collected by Lorna Clement during her time in various communities of the Northwest Territories.
Clement, LornaRecords were created by Peter M. Porter during his time employed as resident watchman/caretaker on Outpost Island in Great Slave Lake, 1938-1940. The records include Porter's journal from November 15, 1938-July 26, 1939, which gives a day-by-day account of life alone on the island. Other records include corresondence from Slave Lake Gold Mines, merchants, and friends, September 1938 to February 1940.
Porter, Peter M.Records include photographs taken by Hilah Simmons during several family trips to the Nahanni between 1967 and 1972. The photos depict camp life and handicrafts, including the construction of and travel in a moosehide boat in 1968.
Simmons, Hilah LendeThe text and approximately half of the images were kept as a scrapbook recounting travels with Commissioner Stuart Hodgson, and life in Yellowknife as written by Mary Ellen Davies. The remaining images document the same time period and events, but were not included in the scrapbook.
Davies, Mary EllenThese records were created by Walter Slipchenko during his time as Chief of DIAND's Circumpolar Affairs Division, Director of Circumpolar Affairs with the GNWT, and as a consultant on circumpolar affairs, from 1977 to 1994. The records consist primarily of reports on GNWT engagement with circumpolar affairs, particularly with exchanges to the USSR and joint projects. Copies of the various cooperation agreements and photographs of some exchanges are also included.

Pappas, GeorgeThe black and white photographs date to the late 1930s and early 1940s and depict buildings and activities in Yellowknife and at the Con, Giant, and Ptarmigan mine sites. The colour photographs were taken in Yellowknife during a reunion trip in the 1980s and feature buildings in the Yellowknife area.

The annotations consist of the locations for a variety of northern posts, including Hudson's Bay Company posts and outposts, R.C.M.P. posts, Northern Traders Limited posts, Reveillon Freres posts, Sabellum Trading Company posts and free trader posts.
