This item consists of a tape with two sides.

Side A consists of an interview with Bud Orange and Stuart Hodgson regarding the budget, and issues within the 29th Session of the Council, both regarding the budget estimates and the logistics of undertaking new projects in the NWT. Other issues mentioned were a $40 bounty on wolves and the lack of tourism promotion. Around 15:23, a CBC music program focused on the works of Bach begins, before ending abruptly around 17:10. The total runtime is 18:11. The audio quality is very clear.

Side B consists of a French-language singer, possibly recorded live as there is laughter and chatter in the background. A French statement at the end says it is a CBC recording. The total runtime is 5:07.

The original audio cassette was copied to DAT circa 1988. The recording consists of an interview with K. Vaydik, a freelancer under contract with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Yellowknife. The discussion covered McDonald's early life, his activities as a geologist and prospector, travel to Yellowknife during the 1930s, a meeting with Jack Hornby, McDonald's opinion on developing a wilderness park at the east end of Great Slave Lake, trading posts, and his naturalist activities.
