The majority of these images are fixed on the pages of a photo album. It would appear that the other prints have fallen out of, or been removed from the album. The images depict life in and around Yellowknife, and in particular document buildings, head frames and activities at the Negus Mine, including the fire at Negus. There are also photographs of Con Mine, Giant Mine and Rycon Mine. In addition, there are images of the Bluefish (Con Hydro) power plant, the installation and hauling of equipment to the Canol Project, the opening of Stanton Hospital, as well as images of Yellowknife residents such as Father Gathy, Gerry Murphy, Dr. Stanton, Mavis Riley (Kingston), and Dr. A.W. (Fred) Jolliffe. In addition, there are images of Jolliffe Island, Detah and Girvin’s Cafe. The bulk of the accession concerns the years 1946 and 1947.
Sans titreOne map was published in 1827 and drawn by Jehoshaphat Aspin in 1826. It is entitled "Recent Discoveries in the Arctic Regions." The 1919 map was published in "Harmsworth's New Atlas" and the 1924 map was published by the Edinburgh Geographical Society.
The textual records consist of two certificates of membership in the Polar Bear Chapter, Order of Arctic Adventurers, for having flown a radio controlled model airplane across the Arctic Circle. The images depict a Commanche 250 model airplane, David Johnson, his wife Gladys and their dog Joc.
The videocassettes consist of "Birch Bark Baskets" (English version) 21 min.; "Making a Birch Sled" (Slavey version) 21 min.; and "The Spruce Canoe" (English version) 21 min. The canoe was built by Johnny Klondike. The videos were filmed by Francine Betthale, produced by the Fort Liard Band Council, and funded by the GNWT Department of Culture and Communications and Dene Nation.

Sans titreThis accession consists of one draft plan, registration number WCFUA 239776, and four photographic reproductions of plans indicating the lot boundaries for the City of Yellowknife in 1948. These plans were compiled for the Western Canada Insurance Underwriter's Association, and the original draft plan is reproduced on one of the four reprints purchased from the PAC. The four reprints are from the National Map Collection, reference numbers: 0007859 - sheets 1-4. These plans include the original names given to many of the streets in the new town area of Yellowknife.
