Commissioner of the NWT, Stuart Hodgson had the Hall converted into a replica of an old RCMP fort and he called it Fort Michener in honour of the Governor General of Canada, Roland Michener, who attended the Ball. The NWT Commissioners Ball was held the Friday night and the RCMP ball was held on the Saturday night."]
