The material is comprised of two copies of the "Dene Declaration: Statement of Rights" on broadsides, and one "Public Notice" from the Chiefs in Council.

Records consist of one volume of transcripts of interviews done by David Pelly for his Wager Bay Oral History Project. The transcripts appear in English and there are extensive indices of people, places and topics. The photographs depict the people interviewed by David Pelly.

The sound recordings contain interviews with elders from Cambridge Bay, which were conducted by David Pelly while working on the Mount Pelly Territorial Park Project.

Records include a report entitled "Seals - Traditional Knowledge Project - Sanikiluaq Interviews." The report, dated October 1998, was part of a research project conducted by the Kitikmeot Heritage Society. The interviewer was David Pelly, a member of the research team.

These records provide information on the development and operations of Con Mine, and to a lesser degree, other mines operated by Cominco including Pine Point Mine, a lead and zinc mine at Pine Point, NWT, and Box Mine, a gold mine at Goldfields near Uranium City in northern Saskatchewan.

The textual records have been divided into 14 series and include general administration records, personnel records, legal records, financial records, records of development at Pine Point, records from the office of the mine superintendent, records from the office of the mine engineer, records from the office of the geologist, health and safety records, and the records of the Con Athletic Association. The company records consist of personnel files, health and safety records, financial records, mill logbooks, and assay test data statistics. Also included are personal files of A.J. Richardson and records of the Con Athletic Association.

The photographs come from a 1950 report produced by the Northern Transportation Company (NTCL) and document Northern Transportation Company Ltd. (NTCL) 'Radium' line vessels, barges and transportation activities at Waterways, Bell Rock and in the Great Bear Lake Region.

This accession consists of copies of a number of presentations made by the participants of the 1990 Circumpolar Conference on Literacy. Included is a copy of the conference program and copies of the text for speeches by Stephen Kakfwi, Minister of Education and Leslie J. Limage of UNESCO.

The sound recording documents an interview with Charles Reiach. The recording includes a narration of a film donated to the NWT Archives by Charles Reiach and his experiences as an HBC trader from 1926-1936.

The audio recordings document the various sessions of the 13th annual conference of the Canadian Research Institute for the Advancement of Women.

The records relate to 18 June 1962 election for the Electoral District of the Mackenzie River and 8 April 1963 election for the Electoral District of the Northwest Territories. The maps illustrate the electoral boundaries within the Northwest Territories between 1962 and 1963. The textual records consist of working documents and copies of official documents that L.F.G. "Bob" Borden had to compile for the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer after the elections were held. The records document the difficulties encountered in organizing these elections and in attempting to distribute electoral boxes to all potential polling stations within the Northwest Territories. The records have been divided into two series; the first series is of textual materials and the second is cartographic.

Please note that the Inuit are referred to as "Eskimos" in these records. The records, transferred from the Federal Government in Ottawa to Yellowknife in 1967 include administrative and operational files. These files incorporate: correspondence, reports, vital statistic information, financial data, minutes, and a wide variety of reference material kept by the department. The files were classified via a numerical block system. The block system consisted of primary, secondary and tertiary levels such that a composite file number (for example 311-105-93) would represent a progression from general subject matter to a specific subject and/or location. The primary number block consisted of: 100 - Administration; 200 - Economic and Industrial Development; 300 - Engineering Projects; 400 - Forests and Game; 500 - Public Service; 600 - Education; 700 - Lands Division: Public Lands; 800 - Lands Division: Territorial Lands and Timber; 900 - Resources; 1000 - General files on settlements, associations, companies, provinces, foreign countries, Inuit affairs, and resources; 20 - Individual case files; 3 - Personnel and organizational files. These broad blocks were subsequently divided in smaller units and secondary and tertiary blocks. For example Forests and Games (400) subdivides into Warden Service (420), or Fisheries (430). None of the 700, 800 or 900 block files were forwarded to the NWT Archives. Moreover, at the time of transfer from Ottawa, it appears that other records from the file blocks brought to Yellowknife in 1967 were culled in Ottawa.

Records are comprised of a 1954 report produced by C.C. Johnson, a Resident Engineer from Fort Smith, entitled "Preliminary Report, Mackenzie Highway - Mills Lake Road." It includes 31 corner mounted photographic prints and 16 black and white negatives. The report discusses plans to build a road to Mills Landing.

The accession consists of one blueprint of a "Plan of Site Survey showing fill and improvements on water lots 1 to 9, block G, Yellowknife. Scale 1" to 50'. Block G covers part of Latham Island.

This accession consists of two reports on agriculture in the Northwest Territories. A sixteen page report, dated November 14, 1942, from Albert Lawrence to E.S. Archibald recounts Lawrence's July to October, 1942 trip to the Northwest Territories to inspect Sub-Stations. His stops included Fort Smith, Fort Providence, Fort Simpson, Fort Norman, Norman Wells, Fort Good Hope, Arctic Red River, Aklavik, Fort McPherson, Fort Wrigley, and Hay River. Lawrence comments on gardens in those localities, environmental conditions, and dairy farming. His report concludes with recommendations. A two page report, dated December 14, 1942, from W.D. Albright to the director of Central Experimental Farms, in Ottawa, is a review of the report by Albert Lawrence.

The description in the reports may cause offense because the creators use outdated language to describe Indigenous Peoples and peoples with mixed heritage. The record is comprised of a handwritten one page census report for 1871 'Statement of the Indian population of the Mackenzie River District', listing total numbers of Indian (Indigenous) residents by Men/Women/Children (boy/girl). Posts reported include: Youcon [Yukon], LaPierre's House, Peel River, Fort Good Hope, Fort Norman, Bear Lake, Fort Nelson, Fort Liard, Fort Simpson, Fort Providence, Hay River, Fort Resolution and Fort Rae.

Records consist of two ledgers dating from 1897-1907. The location of the store where these ledgers were used is unknown, but it is possible that they originate from the Hislop and Nagle in Fort Rae as George Buffum may have collected them during the time when he ran his trading post. The ledgers itemize furs traded for other goods.

The textual records consists of correspondence, Porritt's notes, accounting records, banking records, other business records including a Traders Fur Record Book, records pertaining to the Northwest Territories Legislative Council (consisting primarily of copies), memorabilia, Jock McMeekan's records, a few annual reports and newsletters, some posters and ephemera. In particular, the records document Porritt's occupational and political activities, his personal interests and his relationships with many friends and family members. The photographs, taken and collected by Porritt, cover a wide variety of subjects and dates. The photographs were sorted according to a several categories including: communities such as Yellowknife, Hay River, Fort Resolution, Fort Smith, Behchoko (Fort Rae), Tulita (Fort Norman), Lutselk'e (Snowdrift), Pine Point and Tsiigehtchic (Arctic Red River); family and friends; native people; aircraft and pilots; boats and ships; politics; prospecting and mining; logging; trapping, fishing and hunting; railways; and trucking.

Records document Beryl Gillespie's work with the Mooseskin Boat project. The textual records are comprised of an account of the Mooseskin Boat project as it was observed by Beryl Gillespie. The photographs document the Mooseskin Boat project, including the preparation of the moosehide, boat construction and campsite activities. There are also images of the boat as it travelled down the Keele River, and of George Pelissey and Madeline Karkagie who worked on the project. In addition, there are several images of the mountains near Tulita (Fort Norman).

Records include two newsletters produced by Bern Will Brown, the first in December 1991 and the second in December 1992. The newsletters give a brief overview of life within the community of Colville Lake during both years. Brown notes items of interest relating to himself, his wife and various members of the community.
