Records consist of a photocopied journal compiled by Kenneth McIntyre Dewar. The journal contains photographs, magazine articles, maps and entries. The document records the expedition of Kenneth Dewar, Harold Wilson, J.B. Muirhead and J. Thomson. The expedition was a prospecting journey from Great Slave Lake to Chesterfield Inlet via the Hanbury and Thelon Rivers. It includes Mr. Dewar's account of finding the remains of John Hornby, Edgar Christian and Harold Adlard.

Records include photographs depicting activities and the areas around Fort Simpson, Yellowknife, Port Radium, and Fort Liard. Subjects focus on the activities of the local RCMP detachments: shooting at ranges, scenes of accidents, police transportation, and social events. Photographs of Yellowknife include the development of 'New Town' as well as the scenery of 'Old Town', including Jolliffe and Latham Islands. The 1954 royal visit to Yellowknife is captured. Images of Fort Simpson include aerial photographs of the community, including the spring break-up of the river. Photographs of Port Radium include images of the mining operations, including the mill and processing operations.

The graphic material consists of one photograph of Port Radium and the other one depicts an unidentified mine site, possibly also Port Radium. Records were acquired by Bart Hawkins during his time as a RCMP officer around various communities in NWT.

The DAT is approximately 60 minutes in length and is of Inuit and Dene raven legends retold by Drama Arctic. Stories told include 'Day and Night', 'Stars', 'Sun', and 'Fire'. The recording, produced by CFYK in Yellowknife, features the voices of Kathleen Johnson, Mick Mallon and Louis Blondin.

The textual records consists of letters written by Hugh Ross between 1933-1936 from the Fort Norman Wireless Station to his future wife. In addition, there is a copy of a pseudo newsletter of the Royal Canadian Corps. Of Signals Northwest Territories and Yukon Radio System called "Notes of Interest." The negatives and photographs, which are located in a photo album that was compiled by Hugh Ross, include images of military personnel, wireless stations and the military base at Alert. The films show Yellowknife in the 1940s and 1950s, as well as aerial footage and the base at Alert in the 1960s.

Records include approximately 1000 oral history recordings from the Committee for Original People's Entitlement (COPE). The textual records consist of transcriptions of the audio recordings. These recordings are in Inuvialuktun, Gwich'in and North Slavey and contain life stories of elders as well as traditional legends.

The photographs were collected and taken by various Oblate fathers at the Sacred Heart Parish in Fort Simpson. Although one of the primary photographers was Father Henri Posset, many of the images appear to have been collected from other archives. The images depict the Oblate Fathers, Grey Nuns and Dene residents who either worked at, or attended, the churches, schools and hospitals operated by the Roman Catholic Church. Locations covered include Fort Simpson, Nahanni Butte, Fort Liard, Rae, Fort Providence, Trout Lake, Jean Marie River and Wrigley.

Records include 21 issues of the newsletter "The Catholic Voice." The newsletters date from 1960-1963 and were produced by the Sacred Heart Mission in Fort Simpson. The newsletters include a message from the church (Mission News) and also include written contributions from residents and students of Fort Simpson documenting hospital news, birth and baptism news, as well as school, recreational and social activities within the community.

This accession consists of one diary beginning in June 1933 and concluding in August 1934. The diary provides a daily account of John Nicholson's prospecting activities and work transporting goods to and from prospecting camps in the Great Bear Lake region. He was most active in the southeast region of the lake, particularly in the Sawmill Bay area. Included in the middle of the diary is a cash account listing for the Camsell River Mineral Syndicate.

The textual records consist of administrative records from the Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce, which was also called the Yellowknife Board of Trade. The records date from 1947 through 1986 and include minutes from the Chamber of Commerce, project files, briefs prepared and presented on behalf of its members on topics such as taxation, winter roads, water and railway transportation, community development and road construction. There are also correspondence files containing letters from people interested in employment opportunities and living conditions in Yellowknife, as well as newspaper clippings about the activities of the Chamber of Commerce. The photographs depict a Chamber of Commerce dinner that took place in 1969.

The textual records consist of transcipts of the sound recordings in Chipewyan as well as English translations. The recordings contain interviews with elders that lived in Salt River in the 1920s and 1930s. The elders interviewed were Francois King Beaulieu, Maria Brown, Vincent Beaulieu, Liza Schaefer, Francois Laviolette and Fred Dawson. Topics covered in the interviews include history of Beaulieu family, house construction, animal husbandry, farming and the effect of the major flood that took place at Salt River Settlement during the 1930s.
