Also includes a monthly report from the Area Administrator at Gjoa Haven [1970] and a sample bilingual (English and Inuktitut) report card from Churchill Vocational Centre [1970]. Most of the material relates to education in the Arctic, including articles on schools in Resolute Bay, Akudlik, and Eskimo Point [Arviat] and on teacher training. The file also includes articles on Stuart Hodgson's resignation as Commissioner, reasons for dismissal of superintendents, and an honorary degree given to Arnold James "Moose" Kerr, as well as a letter regarding a proposed information package on education in the NWT [1979] and a memorandum discussing the need for a philosophy of education at the Department of Northern Affairs [1960].
