[Four adults holding cheque][“The Yellowknife Association for Retarded Children [Jack Adderley] is being presented with two cheques. Heidi Hoeffer (Hoefer), treasurer of the D.M.S. (Daughters of the Midnight Sun) with a cheque for two hundred dollars, and John Millen, secretary-treasurer of the Discovery Mine Rec Club – donating the proceeds of a Klondike Night- three hundred and forty dollars. Dennis Mackie is publicity chairman. These two cheques bring the total money raised during the past three weeks to close to one thousand dollars, all money being earmarked for a new school for retarded children.” (News of the North, Nov 7, 1963)]
