North West Air Command Logging Operations Sawmill Bay map
Records include a map produced by the Department of National Defence for Air North West Air Command Construction Engineering Branch. It illustrates Logging Operations in Sawmill Bay, which is located on the south eastern show of Great Bear Lake. The map depicts logging zones in the near area. Eldorado Mine is also situated on the map.

The photographs document the construction of a winter road between Fort Providence and Inuvik in 1963-1964. The 8 mm film appears to depict a flight from Calgary to Norman Wells. The 16 mm film depicts the loading and unloading of barges through various communities along the Mackenzie River, including Hay River, Fort Simpson, Fort Wrigley and Fort Good Hope. The cartographic booklet is comprised of maps of the Mackenzie River.
The materials formerly belonged to Ross Laycock, who worked on the first winter road up the Mackenzie Valley from Fort Providence to Inuvik in the 1960s.

The annotations consist of the locations for a variety of northern posts, including Hudson's Bay Company posts and outposts, R.C.M.P. posts, Northern Traders Limited posts, Reveillon Freres posts, Sabellum Trading Company posts and free trader posts.

Item is an annotated published map converted into a bound folding map, dissected into 30 pieces, mounted on linen and attached to a hardcover binding. The annotations consist of the locations of a variety of northern posts, including Hudson's Bay Company posts and outposts, R.C.M.P. posts, Northern Traders Limited posts, Reveillon Freres posts, Sabellum Trading Company posts and free trader posts. Establishment dates for some eastern Arctic posts are also indicated.
The photographs (227 colour slides and 7 b&w negatives) document Pi's life on his trapline around the Oulton Lake area north of Fort Smith, including building construction, travel by dogteam and by boat, trapping and hunting activities. Also included are photographs of activities in the town of Fort Smith, including parades, sports and dog races. The Super 8 films document animals out on Pi's trapline, life in his camps, as well as dog races. The textual material includes documentation of fur pelts sold, expenses, as well as calendars kept on the trapline. The maps are of Pi Kennedy's trapline area north of Fort Smith and include annotations of trails and cabin sites.
