(NTCL). Subjects include housing in Inuvik, the level of postal service in Yellowknife, runway conditions, and tailings ponds. Included is a discussion of the functions of the Treasury Board Secretariat led by Gary Mullins. In addition the board discusses GNWT staff housing, an Arctic Air Symposium, a task force on northern business, and airport manager training in the NWT, the viability of Arctic Bay, the creation of the road to Nanisivik from Arctic Bay, and the lead-zinc mine opened by Cominco on Little Cornwallis Island. The second reel features a panel discussion on the the status of women and the International Year of Women in the NWT in which the impact of the Royal Commission on the Status of Women (1967) and its effect on the creation of the NWT Status of Women Action Committee is discussed. The textual records include files containing academic performance comments and observations of student behavior dated between 1994-1996 as well as nine journals that contain notes about the academic performance of students and recordings of daily events and activities at Grollier Hall. The notes and journals were kept by Grollier Hall supervisors. The photographs are from 1977-1993 and depict Grollier Hall students, activities and class trips. The 12 videocassettes depict activities and dances at Grollier Hall, drum dances, the 1988 Carnival and the 1993 year end awards banquet. The audiocassette is a recording of the 1990 Graduation at Grollier Hall.
This fonds consists of 35 audiocassettes and 5 cm of textual material generated by the Task Force on Aboriginal Languages. The sound recordings are of community language workshops and public hearings held in a variety of communities including Yellowknife, Rae Lakes, Fort Rae, Fort Resolution, Lutselk'e (Snowdrift), Inuvik, Fort Smith, Deline (Fort Franklin) and Cambridge Bay. The textual material consists of approximately 5 cm of text in the form of transcripts from the workshop and community hearings.
