Certificate reads: This cairn was erected by His Royal Highness The Prince Andrew to commemorate his visit to Cape Columbia, the most northerly land mass in Canada. Latitude 83 [degrees] 12 [minutes] N., Longitude 70 [degrees] 25 [minutes] W. He is the first member of the Royal Family to venture this far North in the Canadian Arctic Seas.
