Part of Eric & Evelyn Kettlewell Yellowknife booklet

One booklet containing 20 photographs of people and places of Yellowknife as well as some surrounding mine sites. Individuals identified include Mike Mitto, Father Gathy, Tom Doornbos, Johnny Chalifoux, J. Finnan, and Maurice McCleery. Scenes of Yellowknife include the Bank of Toronto, RCMP barracks, Burns & Co. refrigeration plant, Con hospital, main street (barber and coffee shop), a dog derby, a diamond drill, cat trains, and the Yellowknife warehouse of Peg-Tantalum Mines Ltd. Mine sites identified include Giant Mine, Con Mine, Negus Mine, Philmore Gold Mine (on Outpost Island), the Salmita camp, and the Yellowrex Gold Mines camp. The booklet is autographed by numerous Yellowknife residents of the late 1940s and early 1950s, and includes a poem inscribed by Tom Doornbos dated December 20, 1946.
