There are records from the Pharmacare Formulary Advisory Committee, Medical Advisory Committee, Health Coordinating Committee, Committee on Medical Legal Concerns, Health Facilities Planning and Construction and the Community Health Advisory Committee. There are also records from the Department of Social Services relating to Social Services Management Committee Meetings and Health and Social Services Training Programs.
Records include the minutes of the Nursing Assistant Certification Committee from the Advanced Nursing Skills Inservice Program (ANSIP).

Community Health divisionThis accession consists of a large extent of unprocessed audio-visual material, depicting primarily Federal health services across the Northwest Territories from the 1960s to the 1980s. These include slide presentations about a 50th anniversary celebration of the St. Theresa’s Hospital in Chesterfield Inlet, a presentation on nursing in the north and a presentation on the services provided by the Department of Health, which is also accompanied by audio presentations in four indigenous languages. As well, there is a large extent of photographs, audio recordings, and video.
Records primarily include correspondence, minutes and reports relating to four nursing conferences, as well as to Senior Management meetings, the St. John Ambulance Committee, Maternal/Perinatal Committee, and Community Health Committee.
Mackenzie Regional Health ServiceRecords date from 1973-1990 and consist of Plans and Program files relating to the Mackenzie Valley Pipeline, Nanisivik Mines, Polar Gas Project and Beaufort Delta Oil Project. In addition, there are Committee files from the Regional Management Committee in Inuvik and Inuvik Regional Health Board and files from Hamlet and Settlement Meetings from the Mackenzie Delta, Western Arctic, Baffin and Great Bear Lake Regions.

The handbook is geared towards medical interpreters and health care workers and contains information for interpreters to assist them in communicating with patients on health related issues.

Policy, Legislation and Communications divisionRecords date from 1972-1998, and mainly relate to legislative initiatives and amendments of Department of Health and Department of Health and Social Services legislation or acts. The files include options papers, draft proposals, and correspondence between legislative policy analysts and the department regarding the requested legislative amendments or initiatives. There are also files from the National Health Research and Development Program (NHRDP) related to the evaluation of NHRDP submissions, correspondence and minutes from the NHRDP Review Panel, as well as files identifying research needs in the NWT, development of health related workshops that would be delivered by the Department of Health, as well as program development in the NWT. In addition, the accession includes departmental strategic planning and reorganization files related to the amalgamation of the Department of Health and the Department of Social Services, as well as files related to the transfer of health services to the GNWT from the Federal Government. There are also records from the Community Transfer Initiative and how it impacted the transfer of health services to communities. There are also working drafts and development files for departmental reports such as the NWT Health Report, NWT Health Status Report, Ambulance Services Report, as well as program evaluation files about the AIDS project and Advanced Nursing Skills Program. The remaining files include management studies (Management for Results) for the various health boards, copies of MOU between the Department of Health and Social Services and Justice and Education, Culture and Employment, as well as files from the Vital Statistics Committee, Territorial Laboratory Standards Committee and Traditional Knowledge Working Group, in particular traditional knowledge activities at Stanton Hospital.

Records include files from the Territorial Hospital Insurances Board, the Senior Management and Executive Committees of the Department of Health and Social Services, Ministerial and Deputy Minister chronos, program files related to the Brighter Futures program, Special Committee on Health and Social Services files, NWT Health Care Association, strategic planning records including the Minister's Forum on Health and Social Services Forum held in 1999 and the resulting report, "Our Communities, Our Decisions: Let's get on with it."
