Records are comprised of a government report entitled Prospecting and Mining Operations: Great Slave Lake. c/o Mike Beauregard / DIAND Geology Archives. The report contains several photographs of the Great Slave area, as well as seven loose plans noting mineral claims around the Great Slave Lake region. The report was written by M. Meikle, Mining Inspector.

This accession consists of 22 colour negatives of Inuvik's 25th anniversary celebration, held July 18, 1983.

Records include photographs documenting the construction of a mooseskin boat, the construction of a spruce bark canoe, and the tanning of a moose hide and a copy of Gloria Fedirchuk's proposal to film aboriginal adaptations and their relationship to the boreal forest environment of the Fisherman Lake Slave, including ethnographic practices, ethnobotanical information on use and taxonomy of flora, ethnozoological information on use of fauna, activities done in various seasons of the year, and the construction and creation of ethnographic items.

The images document Fred North's time in Inuvik (1957-1963 as principal of Sir Alexander Mackenzie School; 1965-1966 either as vice-principal of the new school or back at SAMS; 1967-1973 at one of the schools, probably as principal), Fort Simpson (1963-1965 as school principal) and Yellowknife (1973-1979 - spent one or two years as school principal in Lac la Martre / Whatı̀. Then he served as Superintendent of School Services-Operations ordering furnishings and supplies for all NWT schools). The images show schools, students, teachers, and classrooms, as well as northern events like carnivals, royal visits, and Northern Games. There are also images of various communities and the buildings within them.

This accession consists of W.D. Addison's collection of material related to the Nahanni area, including his own photographs, trip journals, and maps, the annotated bibliography and literature review he compiled, oral-history interviews he conducted, transcripts and catalogues he compiled and edited, photographs, documents, and maps he gathered from various sources, and correspondence he conducted with Nahanni old-timers and others.

This accession consists of a composite map used by Canadian Armed Forces Search and Rescue in the search for pilot Marten Hartwell, nurse Judy Hill and medivac patients David Pisurayak Kootook and Neemee Nulliayok following a plane crash on November 8, 1972.

The item is made of a series of aeronautical maps that were adhered together and annotated. Two sets of plastic overlays detailing search grids and the actual crash site are also annotated. The maps used depict the geographical area from Spence Bay southeast to Great Bear Lake and southwest to Great Slave Lake.

The accession consists of a commemorative album titled "The Edmonton Bush Pilots: Northwest Territories Centennial Flight, August, 1970" compiled on behalf of the City of Edmonton for the NWT Centennial. It is a tribute to the importance of aviation in the histories of both Edmonton and the Northwest Territories. The album contains: a list of bush pilots; a chronology of events from 1904-1970, relating to the Edmonton Industrial Airport (Blatchford Field) and the associated pilots; brief profiles of selected bush pilots; and 23 black and white copy photographs of aviation, dated primarily in the 1920s and 1930s.

The plan was produced in response to the City of Yellowknife's call for proposals for development plans for the city's waterfront areas and includes detailed lot drawings of Latham Island, Jolliffe Island and the Old Town area of Yellowknife.

This accession consists of two newsletters entitled "Norman News" which were published by the students at the Federal Day School in Fort Norman (Tulita). The newsletters (dated October 1958 and February 1959) contain school-related items and items pertaining to the community. There are lists of community events for the upcoming months, birth announcements, stories, crossword puzzles and a column titled hunting news. The reporters listed in the October issue are: Richard Hardy, Randy Stowell, Faye Eliason, Sandra Clement and George McDonald.

Accession consists of as-built drawings for an Inuvik Multibuilt (residential housing).

This accession consists of four programmes for Christmas concerts produced by the students of the Federal Day School in Nahanni Butte. The programmes are for the 1963, 1964, 1965 and 1966 concerts. They contain Christmas carol sheets and the text from plays produced by the students during the concert.

This accession consists of one newsletter entitled "Echo 1967" which was produced by the students at the Federal Day School in Norman Wells. The newsletter (dated January 13, 1967) contains school-related items and items pertaining to the community. There are lists of community events for the upcoming month, birth announcements, a cartoon, an extract from the Liquor Ordinance, and community residents' opinions on Confederation and the future of Canada. The newsletter was originally created as part of the school's contribution to the NWT Centennial celebrations.

This accession contains correspondence concerning the establishment of the Northwest Territories Court of Appeal and its opening session on October 18, 1960.

This accession consists of a transcript of the coroner's inquest dated 1 June 1954 on the death of Frederick Cardinal, the last person to be hanged in the Northwest Territories [Capital Punishment. He was found guilty of murder for shooting his wife]; and a copy of the death certificate.
