Part of Stuart M. Hodgson fonds

This series consists of photographic prints, mostly collected by Stuart Hodgson during his tenure as Commissioner of the Northwest Territories. They document many facets of his time in the north as Commissioner, including gala events, formal dinners, and balls, the Arctic Winter Games, visits of political and Royal dignitaries, touring the communities of the Northwest Territories, Council sittings, working with cairns during the Franklin Probe expeditions, accepting his honourary doctorate from the University of Calgary, his investiture to the Order of Canada, his Outstanding Achievement in Public Service award, as well as his time with the NWT Council and subsequent Legislative Assembly, opening ceremonies for the Arthur Laing building and the Stuart M. Hodgson building, and the Caribou Carnival. Also included are two photographs of a proposed model of the Museum of the North (later the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre). The textual records consist of photocopies of album covers as well as correspondence and ephemera that accompanied the photographs.
