        This fonds consists of three 16 mm films, sound recordings which are narrations for two of the films, 69 photographs and some correspondence. The films are about the following subjects: the topography, flora and fauna of the Thelon River area, Colville Lake and Victoria Island. The narration for the Colville Lake and Victoria Island films is on 4 audio cassettes, which were reformatted to DAT audio cassette in 1993. The 69 colour slides (a few are duplicates) document locations including Great Bear Lake, Colville Lake, Victoria Island and the Thelon Refuge. There are also images of Duncan Pryde, Father Bern Will Brown, and George Rysgaard. The accession also contains correspondence from Father Brown (Bern Will Brown) to George Rysgaard and correspondence with Dr. Breckenridge, concerning the 1970 trip to the Thelon River area. The correspondence includes lists of mammals and birds observed, and plant specimens collected.

        This fonds consists of one photocopy of the typescript version of Alfred E. Preble's journal of his trip from Athabasca Landing to Fort Wrigley back to Athabasca Landing. Included in the journal are descriptions of the flora and fauna observed and collected. There are also descriptions of Fort Resolution, Hay River, Fort Simpson and people he met during the journey. Also included are some photocopies of black and white photos taken by Preble during this trip.

        This fonds consists of 196 photographs in both print and negative format and 1 photographic reproduction of a map. The photographs were taken in Northwest Territories, Yukon, Alaska and Lapland and document reindeer herding activities. One of the images is a reproduction of a map of the Richardson Islands that Dr. Hadwen used in 1939. The images are the result of numerous trips to the circumpolar north during the 1920s and 1930s when he was studying the potential for reindeer herding for both the Canadian and United States governments. Traditional Yupik villages and clothing are also documented.

        This accession consists of a variety of material relating to Sven Johansson's time in the north. These records include one Umatic videocassette copy of Johansson's film entitled "Canadian Reindeer Project"; an audio reel containing narration for the film; 117 photographs; a copy of the Bill of Sale for "North Star', Certificate of Record for "North Star, and a blueprint for the boat the "North Star"; a 16 mm black and white film entitled "Drum Dance" and a Betacam SP copy of "Drum Dance".
